TWO GAY GUYS: A Kiss Is Just a Kiss
What's in a kiss? A lot, at least if it's between two guys.

It's all cool,

I just wanted to say thanks for doing this. I think you guys are cute, but I've always kinda wondered why your kisses for your video log were so chaste. This is really nice.

Michael said to me the other day, "You know, the only time we kiss these days is when we film the blog." Which isn't really true at all, but it is KINDA true when we're both really busy, like lately.

But thanks! ;-)

Cool. Your vlog made me think about the first time I saw to guys kissing (outside cinema). It was at a gay bar nontheless, but when i saw it it was more of a "oh cool" thought than a woah! But I also realized that most of the stigma is around men kissing. It is still few and far between seeing two women kiss on the streets (okay, lets face it, in 20 years i have only seen one) and amazingly enough, the guys around were mesmerized. One even cat called.

But saying so also brings up another point. How do people get used to same sex couples kissing in public if we are too afraid to kiss in public?

It's a catch-22, isn't it?

Here's what I do. I NEVER kiss Michael in a public place where we might be in danger, like on a street corner in the dark. But any place where there is no physical danger, like greeting him at the airport or dropping him off somewhere? We kiss there, because that's where everyone kisses. If other people see, so what? It's a free country. And maybe it'll demystify things a little.

But the idea that we shouldn't kiss to avoid "offending" others? Absurd and offensive on its face.

One thing that really gets me is the double-standard of anything gay being considered taboo "adult content". Not having sex, but kissing or just being together. It's no different than straight relationships and, unless they're taught to be bigoted, little kids won't even notice the difference. They'll cover their eyes during kissing scenes no matter who are kissing. And it's no relief to know that their arguments can have holes poked into them so easily-- they'll cling to their sinking ships with all their might and try to drag us down with them.
